What it does: Ultra-Rapid Opioid Detoxification (UROD) assists in the road to recovery by jumpstarting the patient through opiate withdrawals.
Summary of Treatment: Ultra-Rapid Opioid Detoxification (UROD) is a 4-6 hour process. While under anesthesia, the patient is administered medications that dramatically accelerate the withdrawal process. A vivitrol injection is administered during the UROD, which will block narcotics and their effects for the first month after the UROD. Follow-up injections or naltrexone implants are encouraged.
