What it does: Probuphine contains buprenorphine. It helps the maintenance treatment of opioid dependence in patients. Candidates for this treatment will be taking a stable low-to-moderate dose of Subutex or Suboxone sublingual tablet or generic equivalent.
Summary of Treatment: Patients come into our office and have a procedure preformed in which a special slow-release form of Probuphine (buprenorphine) is placed under the patient's skin. Implants should be repeated every six months.
