Procedure
Spinal Cord Stimulation
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is an advanced neuromodulation therapy that uses mild electrical impulses to interrupt pain signals before they reach the brain. A small device is implanted near the spine that delivers targeted stimulation to the spinal cord or dorsal root ganglion (DRG), providing significant relief for patients with chronic pain.
Dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation is a specialized form of neuromodulation that targets specific nerve clusters along the spine. This approach is particularly effective for complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and other focal pain conditions.
A trial period is performed before permanent implantation to ensure the therapy provides meaningful pain relief for each patient.
Benefits
- Long-term, sustained pain relief for chronic conditions
- Trial period available before permanent implantation
- Adjustable settings for personalized pain control
- Reduces or eliminates need for oral pain medications
- DRG stimulation available for targeted, focal pain relief
- Proven effective for failed back surgery syndrome, CRPS, and neuropathic pain
