Procedure
Epidural Steroid Injection
An epidural steroid injection (ESI) delivers corticosteroid medication into the epidural space surrounding the spinal cord and nerve roots. This reduces inflammation and can significantly relieve pain caused by herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and other conditions that compress or irritate spinal nerves.
ESIs are one of the most commonly performed pain management procedures. They can be administered in the cervical, thoracic, or lumbar regions of the spine depending on the location of your pain. All injections are performed under fluoroscopic guidance for precision.
