Preparing for Your Visit

A little preparation goes a long way. Here is what you should know and bring to make your first appointment as smooth as possible.

Physician Referral

Your referring physician will send us the necessary medical records and imaging prior to your visit. If you are unsure whether your referral has been submitted, contact our office and we will be happy to check for you.

What to Bring

Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of all current medications (including dosages), and any relevant imaging studies (MRI, X-ray, CT scan) on disc if available. If you have prior medical records from other providers related to your condition, those are helpful as well.

Insurance & Authorization

We accept most major insurance plans. Our office will verify your benefits and obtain any necessary prior authorizations before your visit. If you have questions about your coverage or out-of-pocket costs, please call us ahead of time so we can assist you.

Arrive Early

Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This allows time to complete any remaining intake forms, verify your information, and ensure we can begin your appointment on schedule.

During Your Visit

Your initial appointment typically lasts 30 to 60 minutes. Here is what you can expect during your time with us.

Comprehensive Medical History Review

Your physician will take time to understand your complete medical history, including prior treatments, surgeries, and therapies you have tried. The more information you can share, the better we can tailor your care.

Detailed Physical Examination

A thorough physical examination will be performed to evaluate your range of motion, areas of tenderness, neurological function, and the source of your pain. This may include specific orthopedic and neurological tests.

Imaging Review

Your physician will review any existing imaging studies such as MRI, CT, or X-ray results. In some cases, additional diagnostic imaging or tests may be recommended to better understand your condition.

Diagnosis & Discussion

After the evaluation, your physician will discuss their findings with you in clear, understandable terms. They will explain what is causing your pain, answer your questions, and make sure you have a complete understanding of your condition.

Personalized Treatment Plan

Together with your physician, you will develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs and goals. This may include interventional procedures, medication management, physical therapy recommendations, or a combination of approaches designed to provide the best possible outcome.

After Your Visit

Your care does not end when you leave the office. Here is what happens next.

Treatment Scheduling

If a procedure is recommended, our scheduling team will work with you to find a convenient time. We will also handle any insurance authorizations needed before your procedure date.

Questions & Communication

If you think of questions after your visit, do not hesitate to call our office. Our staff is available to help clarify instructions, discuss concerns, or provide additional information about your treatment plan.

Records to Your Referring Physician

After your visit, a summary of your evaluation and treatment plan will be sent to your referring physician so they remain informed and involved in your care.
